
Harrison County, MO: Several Independence Day events will be held over the weekend in Harrison County.
The following celebrations are being planned:
•The Bethany Fireworks Show will be presented at dusk on Thursday, July 3, at the Northwest Missouri State Fairgrounds.
•The Bill and Liz Hogan Independence Day Parade will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, July 4, on Oakland Avenue in Bethany, preceded by a pet parade, hot dog eating contest and crowning the grand marshal Dick Smith at 2 p.m.
•The Cainsville Fourth of July Celebration will include an appreciation supper at 5 p.m. on Friday and activities around the community on Saturday including the parade at 10 a.m.; lawn mower tractor pull at 11 a.m.; baby show at noon; scavenger hunt at 2 p.m.; duck run at 5 p.m.; Jake Beaty music show at 6 p.m.; Girl Scouts serving cake and ice cream at 8 p.m.; presentation of colors at 9 p.m. followed by fireworks show.
•The New Hampton Fireman’s Breakfast will be held from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Friday, July 4.
•The Ridgeway Independence Day Celebration will be held on Saturday, July 5, highlighted by the parade at 10 a.m., the alumni reunion at 2 p.m. in the school gymnasium; the Ridgeway Community Betterment Association’s luncheon following the parade; the fire department’s dunking booth at Centennial Park, and the fireworks show at dusk.
