Ridgeway, MO: Reverend Cesar O. Paniamogan formally of Ridgeway, Mo., died May 27, 2025. He was surrounded by family at his home in Jacksonville, Fla. He was born on February 12, 1932, in Paco, Mainit, Surigao del Norte, Philippines to Sabino Paniamogan and Martha Odtojan.
He got his degree in theology at Silliman University in Dumaguete, Philippines. After working 2 years in his first church, he married Carolina Longino Omandam, a public-school teacher and a member of his church. In time came Cathy, Carl, Caleb, Cesar Jr., and Cephas. Carl died in infancy, the saddest experience for the new family.
After 16 years of ministry in the Philippines he came to the US for a pastoral job and for the education of the children. His first church was in the Christian Church in Pierson, Iowa. His family in the Philippines joined him in 1976. A call from the Christian Church in Maitland made them move to Missouri, where years later the children finished their college degrees at nearby colleges and universities.
Cesar moved to the Missouri United Methodist conference where down the years he pastored at several rural congregations. Among the churches were Ridgeway UMC, Prairie Chapel, Buckley Chapel, Kirkley Chapel, Eagleville UMC, Morris Chapel, Otterbein Chapel, Cainsville UMC, Skidmore UMC, King City UMC, and Star Chapel. For a retirement gift King City and Star Chapel sent Cesar and Carolina to the Holy Land and Egypt in a group tour.
