
Bethany, MO: Gumdrop Books celebrated its 50th anniversary with an open house Wednesday’ at the company’s warehouse on 41st Street. Pictured at the top are employees who served a luncheon during the celebration.Some of the veteran employees attending the luncheon were from the left, Trish Stevens, 21 years; Keith Deskins, 46 years and still counting; Mary Cook, 18 years; Nancy Corveti, 20 years, and Libby Nible, 43 years. The company was founded by Harold and Gail Fitzgerald, left, who opened the business in a small four-room house in Bethany in 1975. The company later moved to the large building on the southeast corner of the Square before moving to its present location.
