Pattonsburg, MO: William Carroll “Bill” Clark, 82, of Pattonsburg, Mo., passed away Tuesday, August 4, 2026.
Bill was born on March 22, 1944, in Bethany, MO, to John E. and Dorothy M. Clark. He spent his entire working life as a truck driver, a career that reflected his strong work ethic and unwavering commitment to providing for his family. Through years of hard work, he made sure his family wanted for nothing and demonstrated every day what dedication and responsibility looked like.
On November 6, 1966, Bill married the love of his life, Gloria J. Fulton, in New Hampton, Mo. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, and the simple joys of the outdoors.
Bill will be remembered for his adventurous spirit and the love he shared with those around him. He had a passion for motorcycles and favorite memories like when he built a minibike from the frame of a little 50cc Honda minibike found in the junk yard or the many hours teaching his kids to water ski on the lake. Many moments that became treasured memories that reflected his creativity and his desire to give his children experiences they would never forget.
A faithful, God-fearing husband and father, Bill taught his children to hunt, instilled in them a deep appreciation for the outdoors, and shared his love of Brittany Spaniels thankfully! The kids were glad to give up running the draws to flush birds to one of the many Brittany spaniel bird dogs that were part of the family. He was the kind of father and grandfather who could always be counted on—whether it was to lend a helping hand, offer sound advice, or simply be present. His quiet strength, steady guidance, and unconditional love will be deeply missed.
Later in life, Bill and Gloria fulfilled a dream of owning an acreage where they raised cattle and enjoyed country living. Some of his greatest pleasures came from the peaceful moments spent on the farm feeding hummingbirds or watching deer the many deer and turkey just outside his back door.
Bill was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Gloria; his parents, John E. and Dorthy M. Clark; his sister and brother-in-law, Helen and Junior Burns; brother-in-law, Herman Little, and his son-in-law, Tom Theisen.
He is survived by his children, William C. Clark Jr. and wife, Carrie, of Four Seasons, Mo., Ricky L. Clark and wife, Kim, of Blue Springs, Mo., Dorothy “Dottie” L. Theisen of Gower, Mo., and Ruby Kay Edwards and husband, Patrick, of Trenton, Mo. He is also survived by his brother, Dewayne Clark and wife, Sharon, of Fairfax, Mo.; his sisters, Goldie Little of Chillicothe, Mo., and Barbara Gibson and husband, Sim, of Brimson, Mo. Bill was a proud grandfather to Jonathan Dale Clark and wife, Martha, of Cameron, Mo., Lindsey Brownlee and husband, Eric, of Cameron, Mo., Rebecca Holt and husband, Kyle, of Blue Springs, Mo., Jacob Clark and wife, MacKenzie, of Blue Springs, Mo., Aleta Denney and husband, Jordan, of St. Joseph, Mo., Cody Theisen and fiancée, Mandalay, of Gower, Mo., and Stephen Edwards of Trenton, Mo.
