
Harrison County, MO: On August 4, 2026 approximately 1854 hours, the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office was alerted by the Federal Aviation Administration of a possible aircraft crash. It was believed this occurred north of Bethany, Missouri in rural Harrison County. Deputies located smoke near US 69 and 245th Street in a field. Subsequently, deputies made entry into the field and located a single engine aircraft which had crashed into a grove of trees. The pilot is presumed to be the sole occupant of the aircraft at this time and was declared deceased at the scene. This incident is still under investigation by the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office, the FAA and the NTSB. The identity of the pilot has not been released pending contact with next-of-kin.
