Martinsville, MO: Frederick Lewis Nail, 73, Martinsville, MO passed away at his home on Monday, May 4, 2026. He was born on October 13, 1952, to Freddie and Helen Louise (McElvain) Nail. He was known as Fred, Freddie, or as his dad called him, Fritz. He graduated from Martinsville High School in 1970. On August 27, 1971, he married Connie Sue Hill. He fought a hard fight, but pancreatic cancer is a tough one to beat. Cancer is a cruel and unforgiving disease.
Freddie retired from MFA Agri in 2010. He loved hunting, fishing, archery, and most things outdoors. He enjoyed spending time with his grandkids and never missed a band concert or softball game. After retirement he enjoyed raising Herford cattle, even though he had a love/hate relationship with the half long horn calves. He loved it that they could be born in a snow drift and jump up looking for something to eat. He hated it that they could find any weak spot in a fence and use it. He had a lot of pride in the quality of and number of bales of hay put up every year.
Freddie is survived by his wife, Connie, of the home; his son, Brad (Angie) Nail, and grandchildren, Brayden Nail and Andrea Nail all of Eagleville, MO; sister, Susie (Jim) Parker and brothers, Bruce (Karen) Nail and Rob (Robin) Nail all of Bethany, MO; brother-in-law, Tim Hill of Martinsville, MO; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 12 at Roberson Funeral Home, Bethany, MO. Burial will follow in Isabelle Cemetery, Worth County, MO. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Isabelle Cemetery and/or Harrison County Cancer Transportation Fund in care of Roberson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 46, Bethany, MO 64424.
