
New Hampton, MO: Margaret Wave (Kariker) Warner, age 101, entered Heaven on March 29, 2026, Palm Sunday, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was known by many as Mema. Margaret was born August 25, 1924, in New Hampton, MO to William and Emma (Clouse) Kariker. She was a sister to Paul, Clella, Helen, Eldon, Cleo, Elizabeth, and Nadine, all deceased. Margaret graduated from New Hampton High School in 1942.
On April 15th, 1946, she married Paul Warner, and they were blessed with three children: Richard, Shirley and Nancy. They were married for 35 years until his death May 21st, 1981. Margaret was a homemaker and enjoyed her family. She was always active in serving the Lord, through teaching Sunday school for over 75 years, singing in the choir and working with the youth. She was involved in community work and school as well. Margaret was a member of Women’s Christians Temperance Union (WCTU), PEO, Women’s Society of Christian Service (WSCS), and Sweet Adaline’s. She held a monthly bible study at Crestview Nursing Home for 16 years with her last bible study held just after her 95th birthday. She loved cooking, sewing, helping others, and hosting family dinners. Her grandchildren were the joy of her life especially after her beloved Paulie went to be with the Lord. Margaret loved being involved in her grandchildren’s life through school events, church, and athletics.
In 1979, she started working for Ron and Irene Murray at the Koffee Korner Kafe and worked there until it closed in 2002, she was almost 80 years old. Fried chicken and making salads were her specialty! She was kind to everyone and loved making friends. She will be remembered for her love for Jesus and encouragement. She was prayerful, a wonderful mother, grandmother, aunt, friend and neighbor.
She is preceded in death by her husband Paul, her daughter Nancy Wright (November 28th, 2018), and son-in-law Charlie McKinny (May 31, 2019).
She is survived by her children Richard, Shirley, and son-in-law Toby; grandchildren Wendy (Tim) Baker, Grant Wright, Barrett (Courtney) Wright, Logen (Jill) Wright, Emma (Ryan) Christopher, Cole (Addie) Wright, Paul McKinny, Sarah (Jared) Ford, Anna (Matt) Higley, Maria (Luke) Shively, 10 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren, two great- great grandchildren, nieces nephews and many friends. Each one held a special place in her heart.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 7 at Roberson Funeral Home, Bethany, MO. Burial will follow in Foster Cemetery, New Hampton, MO. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Foster Cemetery and/or Three Rivers Hospice in care of Roberson Funeral Home, P.O.
