Harrison County, MO: Harrison County employees will get a longer holiday on Christmas. The courthouse offices will be closed on Wednesday, Christmas eve, through Friday. The county will observe the New Year’s holiday on Thursday and Friday, January 1-2.
The Republican-Clipper will again be printing early next week because of New Year’s Day. The deadline for news and advertising will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 24.
Our office will be closed at noon on Christmas eve through Friday, Dec. 26.

Lighting contest winners
The 2025 Christmas Lighting Contest pictures for the city of Bethany will appear in the next issue of the Bethany Republican-Clipper. First place winner was Judy and Antonio Solorio at 2815 Grand Avenue; second place Hayley and Troy Slagle at 1801 Hub Club Drive, and Lisa and Steve Miles placed third located at 1205 South 15th Street.
The commercial winners for the lighting contest were Green Hills Insurance located at 1504 Main Street picked up first place, Little Clara’s Garden won second place at 1508 Main Street, and Scripted Healthcare located at 1506 Main Street placed third. All first place winners receive $150 off their electric bill while second gets $100 off and third receives $50 off their bill.
