Pallet mill destroyed: Men carry out a heavy piece of equipment from the still smoldering ruins of a pallet mill that was destroyed in a fire on Thursday night on West 162nd Street east of New Hampton. A fireman was silhouetted against the flames, bottom, while fighting the fire that lasted into the early morning hours on Friday.

Firefighters from New Hampton, Pattonsburg and Bethany battled the fire for nearly four hours.
Bethany, MO: A pallet mill in the Amish community east of New Hampton went up in a big fire that broke out at about 10 p.m. on Thursday night and quickly consumed the building.
