He was born on May 7, 1927 northwest of Eagleville, Missouri, now known as the Dunn Ranch, the son of Opal (Kinder) Rhoades but was lovingly raised by his grandparents, Clifford and Myrtle Kinder.

On December 18, 1945 he married Wanda Waye Smith. They were married for 66 years until Wanda passed away July 11, 2012. He was also preceded in death by his great grandson, Eli Hall; mother and step-father, Opal and Albert Rhoades; sisters, Mae, Mary Lou, Shirley, and Patty; grandparents, Clifford and Myrtle Kinder, and an uncle that he considered more of a brother, Wayne Kinder.

Harold is survived by his children, Terry (Deanna) Kinder, Ridgeway, MO, Becky Cracraft (Mick Lane), Truro, IA, and Tammie (Jerry) Johnson, Bethany, MO; grandchildren, Talia (Kinder) and Kevin Brown, Travis and Nicole Kinder, Tesha (Cracraft) and Troy Thrailkill, Trent Cracraft, Ashton (Johnson) and David Hall, Allison (Johnson) and Aaron McQuinn, and Amy Johnson; great grandchildren, Reece and (Maddie Lydic) and Trenton Cracraft, Gavin and Brice Thrailkill, Kaylee Keefer, Kalvin, Karli, and Karis Brown, Damian Kinder, Whitney (Kinder) and Adam Davis, Tanner Kinder, Sophia and Julianna Moore, Coraline Hall and Callahan McQuinn, and great-great grandchildren, Hunter Davis, Harley Cracraft and Kinsey Lydic/Johnston.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 29 at the Eagleville Christian Church, Eagleville, MO under the direction of Roberson Funeral Home, Bethany, MO. Burial will follow in Payne Cemetery, Hatfield, MO. The family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 p.m. Sunday at Roberson Funeral Home, Bethany, MO. Memorials may be made to Payne Cemetery and/or Care Initiatives Hospice of Lamoni in care of Roberson Funeral Home, P.O. 46, Bethany, MO 64424.
