
Kansas City, MO: Madeline Schiefelbusch, 95, Kansas City, MO passed away on April 14, 2025, at Linden Woods Village senior living facility in Gladstone, MO.
She was born on February 20,1930, at Washington Center, MO, the middle child of John F. and Maggie J. (Gibson) Ramey. Madeline attended grades one through seven at a rural one room schoolhouse in Washington Center, and attended grades eight through twelve in Bethany, graduating from Bethany High School in 1947. She worked at the Corner Drug Store, shoe store, café, Dr. Ned Sutherland’s dental office, and the Farm Service Agency in Bethany MO.
On November 23, 1951, she was united in marriage to James Morris Schiefelbusch. After a brief time living in Denver, CO, she and Morris made their home in Bethany. After her retirement from the Farm Service Agency in 1995, she moved to Kansas City to be close to her only daughter and her two grandchildren.
Madeline was preceded in death by her husband, Morris, in 1992, her parents, step-mom, Lucille Ramey, sister and brother-in-law, Maxine and Leo Lawrence, younger brother, Dale Lee Ramey, step-siblings and spouses Sam (Norma) Hendren and Rosalie (Chet) Wilson, sisters and brothers-in-law Marion ‘Babe’ and Ronald ‘Smitty’ Smith, and Marjorie and Melvin Schiefelbusch, a nephew and a niece.
Madeline is survived by her daughter, Dena, of Kansas City; 2 grandchildren, Maggie (Bill) Toplikar, and James Cameron (Monique) Jones, and step-grandson, Terry L. Morris, Jr., all of Kansas City; 2 great-grandchildren, Madelyn Harper Morris and Benjamin James Toplikar, as well as 2 step-great-grandchildren, Robert and Madeline Toplikar; sister-in-law, Meredith (Schiefelbusch) Banks; 7 nephews, 6 nieces and many great and great-great nephews nieces.
Private services and interment will take place at a later date at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Blythedale, MO.
