Harrison County, MO: The Harrison County Community Hospital’s plan to build a new $62 million medical facility in East Bethany became the top news story of 2022 in a review of stories from past year.
The hospital’s proposal created some debate when the hospital board selected 39th street as the location of the new hospital, forcing the city to consider rerouting the new street. The city officials ultimately decided to relocate the street past the hospital’s site at the expense of the hospital district.
The hospital currently is awaiting approval of federal loans and grants to build the new hospital which will continue to be one of the top stories in 2023.
