New Hampton firemen injured while fighting huge grass fire

The Lifeflight Eagle helicopter landed in the field to pick up an injured New Hampton firefighter who was taken to the KU Medical Center with critical burns when the fire swept into a fire vehicle.

Three New Hampton firefighters were injured, one critically, while attempting to control a grass fire that burned hundreds of acres of land northwest of Bethany on Sunday afternoon.
