Bethany, MO: The V.F.W and the American Legion came together to help honor veterans of past wars over the Memorial Day weekend. The event, held at Miriam cemetery, featured guest speaker Buffy Smith, aide to Congressman Sam Graves, returning to her hometown to highlight the importance of Memorial Day and those who have served, in her speech delivered from the grounds. Some 664 small American flags were placed on the lawn of the cemetery to represent each solider buried on the grounds at Miriam.–Republican-Clipper photo
