Bethany, MO: The audience stands as the colors are presented to open the Memorial Ceremony Sunday afternoon at Miriam Cemetery. Brenda Clark, left, standing with VFW Commander Mike O’Neal, presented a special reading honoring members of the armed services who have lost their lives defending our nation. Kathy Conger sang the National Anthem. Alan Guernsey served as the commander of the color guard. Phil Conger was the guest speaker, recalling the “Heroes I Have Known” among those buried at the cemetery. Jaylee Booher played Taps to close the ceremony.
