Bethany, MO: A simple post on the Memorial Chapel website notified people that the funeral home had closed its doors for good. Owner Bill Slaughter had decided to retire. His business had stood along North 25th Street since its construction in 1982. Bill took a few minutes from his day to talk about his decision to close and reflect on nearly 48 years of being on call 24 hours a day.–By Caleb Osmon
