World War II memories: Laverne Madison and Dwight Goodwin display some of the mementos that they collected while serving in Europe during World War II. The items were placed on a exhibit table in the dining room of the Crestview Sunnyview Apartments on Veterans Day. Madison took part in several battles during his service in the war. Goodwin arrived in Europe as an 18-year-old soldier just four days before the end of the war. He was part of the U.S. Army force that met the Russians at the Elbe River in Germany at the end of the war. He participated in the occupation of Germany after hostilities had ceased.
