Bethany, MO: Cristy Elaine Clark, 72, Bethany, MO passed away Monday, July 13, 2026, at a Stanberry, MO nursing home.
She was born on February 9, 1954, in Leavenworth, Kansas the daughter of Robert Lee and Elsie Colleen (Wright) Hartman.
On February 6, 1999, she married Jimmie Clark in Bethany, MO. He survives of the home.
Cristy was a graduate of South Harrison High School in 1972. She took several college credits at the St. Paul School of Theology. She worked as a nurse’s aide, cook, housekeeper and most notably as a pastor for 25 years. Cristy pastored 15 years at Morris Chapel United Methodist Church of Bethany, Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church of Martinsville, 10 years at Pattonsburg United Methodist Church and 5 years at Heath United Methodist Church of Pattonsburg. She sang and served as a minister for many funerals in the area. She also helped start the Harrison County Food Pantry.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Richard Hartman and Bobby Hartman; daughter, Laura Deanna Roe; and son, Lucas Covey.
In addition to her husband, Cristy is survived by her sons, Matthew (Lisa) Covey, Altoona, IA, Daniel Covey, Des Moines, IA; and granddaughter, Krysta Covey (Nick).
Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Thursday, July 16, at Roberson Funeral Home, Bethany, MO. Burial will follow in Lloyd Cemetery, Mt. Moriah, MO. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
