Gilman City, MO: James Lester Helton-81, Gilman City, Missouri passed away Monday, May 25, 2026 at the VA Home in Cameron, MO.
He was born on December 11, 1944 in Bethany, Missouri, the son of Lloyd and Kathryn (Renfro) Helton.
Jim accepted and professed Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, placing his faith and trust in Him, and was a member of the Mount Pleasant #1 Baptist Church of Gilman City, MO. He served his Country in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Stephen Helton, Wesley Helton and Philip Helton.
Jim is survived by brothers, Deen Helton (Betty) and Robert Helton of Gilman City, MO, David Helton (Karla) Bethany, MO, Richard Helton (Sirtip), Fridley, MN, Mark Helton (Tracy) Bowie, TX; sisters, Beverly Miller (Doug), New Meadow, ID and Anne Dunn (Alan), Ponte Verde, FL; and sister-in-law, Leah Helton. Additional survivors include numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, as well as great nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, May 30, 2026, 1:30 p.m., at Roberson Funeral Home, Bethany MO. Burial will follow in Springer Cemetery, Gilman City, MO.
