My house was robbed, but I gained a sense of community

Bethany, MO: It’s funny how one decision can have lasting ramifications for your life. My Friday ended like every Friday; I stopped by Phil’s cubbyhole and told him what I had planned over the weekend. I went home, ate, took a walk with my wife, and played online video games with my brother until 11 o’clock. About 12:30 I went to my separate room, opened my window, and fell asleep, my typical Friday night.

A photo pulled from my neighbor’s doorbell camera shows what I believe is the man who broke into my house. The video shows him trying to enter the neighbor’s house, checking to see if the doors were locked, before giving up and walking towards mine. As the man attempts to block his identity by raising his hand over the camera he shows a knife tucked in the palm of his hand.
