New Hampton, MO: David Coleman, 66, of Savannah and New Hampton, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, April 5, 2026 at his farm home in New Hampton, Missouri. He was born on April 14, 1959 in Bethany, Missouri, the son of Garland and Maxine Myrinda (Swope) Coleman.
He was united in marriage on June 7, 1986 to Deborah Sue Wagner. David and Deborah had two children: Gerald and Devan Myrinda.
David worked on the family farm in New Hampton as a conservation reserve program (CRP) farmer. He enjoyed the freedom and independence his work gave to use his farm equipment and problem solve. He liked visiting farm sales, looking for good deals and his latest farm gadget finds. He loved his family very much and took in his mother and aunt when they needed extra care. He spent time tinkering with various projects, making upgrades to his home, farm, and shop. He made sculptures out of scrap materials on his farm including an 8 foot tall stork he used as a birth announcement for his two children. While his children were growing up, he liked taking them on his boat and on motorcycle rides. David had a lot of fun playing dominos with his family.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Garland and Maxine; his wife, Deborah; and son, Gerald Coleman. He leaves his daughter, Devan Heronemus and husband Seth of Olathe, KS; and grandson, Salem Heronemus (to whom he was affectionately called “Grumpypa”).
A visitation will be held at Roberson Funeral Home on Friday, April 10th from 1:00 – 2:00 PM, followed by a memorial service at 2:00 PM. The family will have a private burial at Foster Cemetery in New Hampton, MO. Memorials and contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association in care of Roberson Funeral Home, P.O.
