Trenton, MO: Lisa Renee Appel, a 60 year old Trenton resident, passed away at 3:10 a.m., Saturday, September 27, 2025 at her residence where she was under hospice care.
She is to be cremated under the direction of Slater Neal Funeral Home. There will be a celebration of life held at a later date.
Lisa Renee Appel was born March 11, 1965 in St. Joseph, MO to Robert Milton and Ruth Elvina (Brisendine) Geiler. She attended high school in St. Joseph and got her C.N.A. certification. For many years she worked as a C.N.A. for Crestview Nursing Home, Bethany Care Center and Davies-Dekalb Regional Home. On August 8, 2008 she was united in marriage to Christopher Anthony Appel at the Harrison County Lake near Bethany. Lisa loved traveling, exploring and being around the ocean. She also loved her plants and collecting anything of a Native Indian heritage.
Surviving relatives include her husband Christopher of the home children Kelly Geiler and significant other Michael Rucker of Bethany, Kayla Pittsenbarger of Pattonsburg, Jeremy Pittsenbarger and significant other Brittani Adams of Pattonsburg, and Kassie Pittsenbarger and significant other Dakota Phelps of Mill Grove, brothers Robert Geiler and wife Janie of Princeton, KS, and Jerry Geiler and wife Judy of St. Joseph, sisters Patricia Asher and husband Truman of St. Joseph, and Vickie Geiler of Trenton, sister-in-law’s Patricia, Michelle and Maria Appel, fifteen grandchildren, one great grandchild on the way, and many nieces and nephews that she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Larry Ray Geiler and a sister Frances Geiler.
