Bethany, MO: On Christmas Eve a fire broke out in the house of Debbie and Mark Wickham. The Bethany Police Department was first on scene followed by the fire department. The fire had burned through the back of the firebox in the chimney and spread to the house’s structure. A hole had to be cut into the roof of the house to vent the smoke. Thanks to the quick actions and the combined efforts of the PD and FD, the house was saved. After the people were safe the police helped move the wrapped gifts to a waiting truck and the firemen helped tarp the hole in the roof before leaving. Debbie and Mark refer to the Bethany emergency services as “total pros”.--Republican-Clipper photo
