Bethany, MO: Work has continued on restoring monuments at the Miriam Cemetery in Bethany. Kurt Jordan, left, a cemetery preservationist, recently presented a work shop on tablet restoration to a group of volunteers. Jordan selected a small tablet that was broken, with the two pieces lying flat on the ground for quite some time. He demonstrated how to level the base for the stone, clean the break in the stone and glue the pieces together using a special epoxy.
Volunteers have repaired between 40 to 50 stones over the past couple of years. Anyone interested should contact the cemetery at Miriamcemetery8@gmail.com.--Submitted photo
