Bethany, MO: A few weeks ago the historical marker sign, located on Highway 136, was found damaged. One of the four wooden posts surrounding the marker was destroyed by an unknown cause, resulting in the sign becoming deformed. With no camera in the area and the perpetrator long gone, the residents of town are forced to draw their own conclusion about what happened on that day. The historical sign depicting a brief history of Bethany and including references to other surrounding towns such as Eagleville and Cainsville now has a permanent lean to the heavy metal sign, warping the structure.
