Princeton, MO: Wilma Jean Osborn left this world to be with her Savior Jesus Christ in heaven on Sunday January 4, 2026, at Pearl’s II with family by her side.
Jean was born February 24, 1926, in Eagleville, Missouri to Carl and Maxine (Bogue) Shain. Jean was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She was very devoted to her church.
Jean met Jimmie Osborn and after 3 dates he proposed to Wilma Jean. Jim left to go back to the ship and Wilma Jean sent him a letter accepting his proposal. They were united in marriage on Dec 6. 1950. They were married 55 years before Jim’s passing on September 6, 2006. When Jean and Jim got married Jim gained a daughter, to whom he raised as his own. To this union three children were born. Sylvia Berry, James (Penny) Osborn and Harold (Twila) Osborn.
Jean did an apprenticeship for cosmetology under her aunts Lura and Evelyn Shain.
During her marriage life Jean worked on the farm with Jim. She always had a big garden and chickens. She also loved sewing clothes for grandchildren
Jean is preceded in death by her husband, Jim; daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Charles Daniel; her parents, Carl and Maxine Shain; parents-in-law, James and Sylvia Osborn; great-grandson Gaige Sherer; infant son, Carl Keith Hoagland, daughter-in-law Kendra Osborn; sister Willa Lee Harold; and granddaughter-in-law Melinda Daniel.
Jean is survived by her children, Sylvia Berry (David) Chillicothe, MO, James (Penny) Osborn, Ridgeway, MO, Harold (Twila) Osborn Altanta, MO. Jean was also blessed with 11 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren; sister, Kathie (Gary) Patton and sister-in-law, Eve Thompson and lots of beloved nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 12 at the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, Mt. Moriah, MO under the direction of Roberson Funeral Home, Bethany, MO. Burial will follow in Lloyd Cemetery, north of Mt. Moriah, MO. The family will receive friends from 12:30-2:00 p.m. Monday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Gaige Sherer Memorial Fund in care of Roberson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 46, Bethany, MO 64424.
