Bethany, MO: During the most recent Bethany council meeting, Mayor Lance Johns read out loud bill 1428, an ordinance adopting a budget for the ensuing fiscal year. After reading the bill, the mayor added, “That’s a lot of money,” with City Administrator Jake Taylor assuring the mayor the total also included cash on hand. He asked the city aldermen to take a vote in order to pass the proposed city budget of $25,185,127 for the coming year. Every board member fell into agreement, approving the bill and establishing the city’s working budget.
