Bob (Left) and Rod (right) Hutton share stories about the days of running one of the most modern gas station from Kansas City to Des Moines in 1963.
Bethany, MO: In a time before the Interstate dominated travel, the most modern gas station between Des Moines and Kansas City sat in Eagleville right alongside Highway 69. In 1963, when the station was built, it showcased modern features small-town America had never seen. A full concrete lot, three sets of pumps, and Y-shaped fluorescent lights dazzled the customers of Hutton Fina as they pulled off the highway in search of fuel and a break from the endless hours of driving.
