Palm to Pine highway recognized

Bethany, MO: Bethany’s prominent location on the Jefferson Highway will be recognized by a pair of signs that will be mounted on the route. Loring Miller, left, of Leon, Iowa, a member of the Jefferson Highway Association, and John Ross of Bethany hold signs that will be placed on 12th Street and Allen Park. The highway, which is over 100 years old, connected New Orleans with Winnipeg, Canada. It was known as the Palm to Pine Route.--Republican-Clipper photo
