American Legion Hall celebrates Veterans with night of entertainment
Bethany, MO: The American Legion Hall located outside of Bethany on Hwy 13 opened their doors on Veteran’s Day to soldiers from the past and present. The gathering offered free meals to any armed forces member along with plenty of camaraderie, as over a hundred people showed up to the event.--By Caleb Osmon
Former United States Navy man Dennis Miller talked about his time overseas, recalling his time serving on a carrier during the American Legion’s dinner on Veteran’s Day.Tucked in the corner of the hall, an empty chair was placed by a table along with a plate and a fork, the American Legion’s way of honoring the soldiers who didn’t make it back home.Some members of the South Harrison band, along with one of the band directors Mr. Aaron Morley, played the armed forces melody during the American Legion’s Veteran’s Day celebration.Republican-Clipper photos The American Legion’s Veteran’s Day celebration nearly packed the house. With the hall serving over a hundred people during the event, featuring soldiers of the past and present coming together to share stories and remember the fallen.
