Fire damages home

Bethany, MO: Smoke pours out of the windows of a burning home at 1103 West Main Street as firemen battle the blaze. The fire department was notified about the fire at about 7:10 a.m. Thursday morning. Fire Chief Jacob Denum said a man was asleep on the couch in the living room when he woke up to smell smoke. He alerted a woman who was asleep in the bedroom and both were able to escape. A fire marshal investigated the fire which remains under inquiry.
