The house at 617 South 12th Street will be demolished. The Council recently approved the demolition after the house has been vacant for many years. According to City Administrator Jake Taylor, it takes a long legal process to clear a dilapidated property.
Bethany, MO: The city council met Monday evening, August 4, to a nearly packed room. Mayor Lance Johns, who has long encouraged people to attend the public meeting, noted the turnout, praising the crowd for a loud Pledge of Allegiance. The floor was turned over to public comments as the mayor looked out into the crowd. With no one stepping forward, the mayor asked if most of the people were there for the dog ordinance review. Several members of the crowd shook their heads, so the council addressed changes being made to the city’s ordinances.–By Caleb Osmon
