Ridgeway, MO: Darlene Jean Baker, 67, Ridgeway, MO passed away Saturday, July 12, 2025, at a Bethany, MO nursing home.
Darlene (Grammy) was born in Colorado Springs, Colorado on November 20, 1957. She was preceded in death by her parents, Loren Boger and Jean Pierson, her husband Dannie Baker, and their son Brandon. She married Dan in Ridgeway MO on September 16, 1973.
Before Darlene’s health declined, she taught painting ceramics to the kids in 4-H and after that, you could find her in the ceramics room in her home, painting ceramic figures. She also enjoyed her time on the front deck of the house watching the squirrels eat the jam that Dan had put out for them. She would never turn down a manicure from her granddaughters and daughter-in-law as she loved the time spent together. She never turned down a chance to ride in the Western Star with Dan or behind him on the trike; oh, the stories to be told. Whether you were visiting her at home, or the nursing home, you could guarantee she had a cigarette, coffee and some Little Debbie snacks ready to share.
Around Christmas of 2024, she found out about a new great grand baby, and she was so happy and honored to get to know and meet sweet Baby Baker. As Grammy would say, Baby Baker will be covered in angel kisses (freckles).
Survivors include children, Tim and Wendy Baker, Ridgeway MO and Josh Baker, Pattonsburg MO; grandchildren, Maggie (Seth) Peters of New Hampton, Mo, Megan (Brayden Vandivert) Baker of Bethany, Mo, Jayson (Gabby Griffin) Baker of Ridgeway, Mo, Jordan Baker of Ridgeway, Mo, Ryker Baker of Chillicothe, Mo, and Sawyer Baker of Bethany, Mo; great grandchildren, Everleigh Kay and Baby B on her way!
