Bethany, MO: A large crowd braved chilly winds at the Military Monument Wednesday afternoon in Bethany to pay tribute to the men and women who served in the Vietnam War. Mike O’Neal of the Bethany VFW Post, top left, and Tom McFall of the American Legion, right, led the ceremony which was held on Vietnam War Day. U.S. forces suffered nearly 50,000 casualties in the war that ended in 1975. The Prairie Queen Quilters handed out quilts to Vietnam veterans and their families at the conclusion of the ceremony.
