BETHANY, MO: Juanita “Kay” (Still) Thomas, 76, Bethany, MO passed away Monday, July 3, 2017 at a Bethany, MO nursing home.

She was born October 26, 1940 in Leon, IA the daughter of Harold and Oresta (Tellier) Still. She attended school in the Davis City and Lamoni, IA area and graduated from Lamoni High School in 1959. She attended Graceland University and went to work in Des Moines.

Kay was united in marriage to LeRoyce Ellsworth Thomas on July 22, 1962. To this union, 5 children were born: Michael Lee, Mark LeRoyce, Julie Kay, Dan LeRoyce, and Brian Paul. They resided in Eagleville after they were married and Kay was a stay at home mom. Once the kids were in school, Kay worked for Graceland University, then later at Lane Bryant, Lambert’s, O’Brien Brothers and Calhouns. Later she went to work for William J. Esley as a secretary, then was a secretary for Dr. Middleton and Dr. Patel. In 1989, Kay and LeRoyce moved to Albany where she went to work for Parman and Manring Law Office until her health forced her to quit working.

Kay enjoyed collecting Barbies and porcelain dolls and loved to decorate for any and ALL holidays!

Kay was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and will be missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, LeRoyce; 2 sons, Mark and Brian; and her brother, Harold Wayne “Bud” Still.

Kay is survived by sons, Mike (Shirley) Thomas, Eagleville, Dan (Tanya) Thomas, Bethany; daughter, Julie (Randy) Vaughan, Clarksville, TN; grandchildren, Jackie (Christopher) Finley, Des Moines, Tiffany (Jason) Foster, Clarksville, TN, Alynn (Ryan) Harris, Bethany, Danyel (Aaron) Fitzpatrick, Unionville, MO, Lincoln Thomas, Mattison Thomas, and Wyatt Thomas all of Bethany; great granddaughters, Allie and Rylee Harris, Bethany, Kelsey Foster, Clarksivlle, TN; and Harper and Kirkley Fitzpatrick, Unionville, MO; and a dear friend she thought of as another daughter, Norma Hill.

Graveside services and burial will be held at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, July 6 at Wesley Chapel Cemetery, Martinsville, MO under the direction of Roberson Funeral Home, Bethany, MO. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. Thursday at Roberson Funeral Home, Bethany, MO.
