GILMAN CITY, MO: James “Jimmy” Farrel, 70, Gilman City, MO passed away Thursday, March 22, 2018 at his home.
He was born June 26, 1947 in Newark, New Jersey the son of Gerald and Helen (Walsh) Farrell.
Jim married Linda Hildreth, who later passed away. On October 18, 1986 he married Joyce Pilcher. She survives of the home.
Jim served in the United States Navy and was a civil service worker as a rigger and diver. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and hunting. Family became Jimmy’s top priority, especially his grandkids. The grandchildren enjoyed the treats in the refrigerator in the barn where the radio was never turned off.
He was also preceded in death by his parents/ brother, Gerald Farrell; and father-in-law, Kenneth Pilcher.
Jim is also survived by his daughters, Vicky (Darrin) Elder, Jessica Cottrell, Michelle (Chad) Cole, all of Gilman City, MO, Krissy (Rick) Chambers, Cavendish, Vermont, Jeannette (Andy) Hamilton, Cameron, MO, Kazie Miller, Gilman City, MO; 17 grandchildren, Joycelynn, Zachary, Ricky, Dylan, Alec, Matthew, Mitchell, Megan, Riley, Katie, Kaden, Kaleb, Evan, Ethan, Gannon, Linlee, Livia; 2 great grandchildren, Adison and Shayleigh; and sister, Maureen (Jim) Lehman, San Antonio, TX.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 26 at the First Baptist Church, Gilman City, MO under the direction of Roberson Funeral Home, Bethany, MO. Burial with Military Rites will follow in Masonic Cemetery, Gilman City, MO. The family will receive friends from 3:00-6:00 p.m. Sunday at the church.
