Erma Clair Daniel, 1922 – 2018

BETHANY, MO: Erma Clair Daniel, 95, Bethany, MO (formerly of McFall, Butler Township, MO) passed away Thursday, May 31, 2018 at a Leon, IA hospital.

She was born on July 25, 1922 in Harrison County, Missouri the daughter of Luther J. and Lela E. (Wiley) Gibson.

On August 24, 1940 she married Charles Max Daniel in Bethany, Missouri. They were married for 72 years until Max’s passing on November 13, 2012.

Erma was a member of the United Methodist Church of Bethany. She loved quilting, crocheting, and loved cooking everything good, especially doughnuts, pies, and cinnamon rolls. She unconditionally loved her whole family and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Velma Speck, Eileen Ratliff, and Romaine Theel; and brothers, Ernest Melvin, James Marvin, and Arnold D. Gibson.

Erma is survived by her son, Terry (Linda) Daniel, Bethany, MO; daughter, Marla (Kennan) Brockett, St. Joseph, MO; 5 grandchildren, Brad (Stacy) Daniel, Ryan (Jennifer) Daniel, Beth (Doug) Mitchell, Marissa (Brian) Spillman, and Cole Brockett; sister-in-law, Eva Gibson; 10 great grandchildren, Max, Keegan, Peyton, Emma, Amberlie, Connor, Ethan, Kearston, Mason, Derek; 1 great-great grandchild, Aubrie; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 4 at Roberson Funeral Home, Bethany, MO. Burial will follow in Miriam Cemetery, Bethany, MO. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Harrison County Genealogy Library in care of Roberson Funeral Home, P.O.
