The Harrison County Health Department opened its new reception center on Monday morning after a 1,000-square-foot expansion of the health office.
The health department opened in 1979 at the former location of the Open Door Baptist Church. The agency underwent an earlier expansion in 1989. Courtney Cross, administrator of the health department, said the expansion cost $585,500 and was completed by the contractor, Jesse White of Maysville, well within the budget.
