Car crash drill: South Harrison students, playing the role of victims, are a gruesome sight during a mock car accident drill Friday at the high school. The drill involved a two-car accident using smashed vehicles provided by Young’s Wrecker. Emergency responders removed the “victims” from the car. Highway Patrol Corporal Chris Sullivan put Emily Starmer through a sobriety test, bottom right, while NTA personnel provided treatment. Taking part in the exercised were, from the left, Deputy Sheriff Eric Remmer, Police Chief Brian Groom, Sullivan, students Emily Starmer, Brooke Blanton, Paige Peterson, Brylee Bowles and Gaige Sherer and NTA crew John Barclay, Jake Loving and Dr. Scott Hall. The exercise was sponsored by Buchanan County EMS, the Highway Patrol, Bethany Fire Department, Bethany police and NTA.–Republican-Clipper photos
