Mary Jo Seeley

 

Mary Jo Seeley, 77, lifelong resident of Cainsville, died Saturday, March 6, 2010.

 

Mary was born August 15, 1932 at Cainsville.  She graduated from Cainsville High School and married Bob Seeley in 1951.

Mary worked in the lunch room of Cainsville School.  She was a member of the 20th Century Club, G.F.W. of Missouri First District and had served as First Vice-President; First Baptist Church and was active in 4-H.

 

Her parents, Charles and Blanche (Peterson) Jones; daughter, Karen; sisters, Patsy Dailey and Ann Reynolds; brothers, Jerry and John Jones preceded her in death.

 

Survivors: husband, Bob, Cainsville; sons, Jimmy (Kara) and Jeffery (Jennifer), Bethany; Daughters, Bobbie Bolton, Smithville, Connie (Bill) Heuerman, Bethany, Tammy (Shawn) Lane, Blythedale; sister, Peggy Rinehart, Bethany; 12 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren.

 

Graveside services and burial: 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, Pastor Royce Smith officiating at Zoar Cemetery, Cainsville. Services by Stoklasa Memorial Chapel. Online tributes maybe left at www.bethanymemorialchapel.com.

 


Stanley Laverne Daniel

 

Stanley Laverne Daniel, 63, Pattonsburg, passed away Wednesday, March 3, 2010.

 

He was born December 24, 1946 in McFall, Mo., the son of Junior and Elizabeth Mae (Leonard) Daniel.

 

Stanley was a delivery driver for MFA Propane for 23 years.  He graduated from Pattonsburg High School.  Stanley served eight years with the National Guard and he was an active member of the Pattonsburg Volunteer Fire Department. He was also a member of the McFall Baptist Church. Stanley loved sprint car races and watching sports on television.  He would help anybody at anytime.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Vernon Ray Daniel and sister, Ramona Sweat.

 

Survivors include his sisters, Mary Ann (Tobe) Wyrick, McFall, Mo., Arlene  (Kenneth) Yost, Pattonsburg, Mo., and Dorthy Lyerla, Cobden, Ill., and several nieces and nephews.

 

Funeral services were Saturday, March 6, at the Roberson Funeral Home,Pattonsburg, Mo.  Burial in McFall Cemetery, McFall, Mo.

Ole Norman Legaard

 

Ole Norman Legaard, 91, Mount Moriah, Mo., died Monday, March 1, 2010, at the Harrison County Community Hospital.

 

For the majority of his life, Ole, and wife Coy, ran a grade A dairy and farming operation a few miles west of Mount Moriah.

 

He was born near Fortuna, N. D.. on May 10, 1918, and was the seventh of ten children. He grew up on a wheat and barley farm located only a few miles from Canada and Montana that his Norwegian parents homesteaded in 1910.

 

In 1941, he joined the US Army as a member of Company E of the 164th Infantry of the Americal Division in the Pacific Theater.  During his 3 years of service, he participated in the defense of Henderson Field in the Battle of Guadalcanal, the first campaign to engage the Japanese in battle, which resulted in victory after some of the most intense and lethal fighting of War World II.

 

After completing his military service in 1944, he worked in the war-related shipyards in Vancouver, Wash., where he would meet his future bride and love of his life.  On March 17, 1945, he married Coy C. Duncan of Mount Moriah. Ole and Coy lived in the Vancouver area before moving to Missouri in the summer of 1946.

 

In the early 1950’s, Ole served as a veterinarian assistant to Dr. Rinehart of Ridgeway, Mo., and at the urging of his mentor provided veterinary services for scores of area farmers for more than two decades. For a number of years, Ole served on the Board of Education of the Mount Moriah School District.

 

Ole was preceded in death by sons, Garry and Steven; his parents, Gunder and Margaret Legaard; and his nine brothers and sisters.

 

Survivors include his wife, Coy, of the home; a son, David (Janice) of Smithville; two daughters-in-law, Susan of Bethany and Rochelle of Kansas City; three grandchildren, Danny (Brandi), Chris, and Andrea of Kansas City; two great-grandchildren Corey and Bailey of Kansas City; and the extended families of Kelly and French Harris of Forest City, Mo., and Tracy and Ron Allen of Oregon, Mo., and nieces and nephews.

 

Funeral services were Friday, March 5, 2010, at Roberson Funeral Home, Bethany, Mo. Burial in Lloyd Cemetery, Mt. Moriah, Mo. In lieu of flowers, donations to Mt. Bernice Crosswhite

 

Bernice Crosswhite, daughter of William R. and Grace P. (Christy) Worden was born in Stewartsville, Mo., and passed away March 1, 2010 in Maysville at the age of 92.

 

She married Marshall R. Crosswhite on May 4, 1941 in Kansas City, Mo., moved to the Pattonsburg area and lived there over 50 years.  In 1950 she returned to teaching at Fairport School and then started a 28-year career at the Pattonsburg School in 1951.

 

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Marshall R. Crosswhite; and two brothers; son-in-law, and sister-in-law.

 

Survivors include one daughter, Linda Reynolds and her friend John Eggleston Jr. of Cameron, and several other relatives.

 

Services were March 4 at Bram-Turner Funeral Home, Maysville.
